Vibrating my Truth
Embracing the Root Growth Phase
As we continue to embark on our entrepreneurial journey, the story of the bamboo plant offers a meaningful reflection of where we stand today. Just like bamboo, which spends years growing a robust root system before it shoots up toward the sky, our journey has been one of deep, unseen growth. This phase of laying strong foundations is crucial for the longevity and resilience we strive for at Printed Truth.
“In 2018, I closed the previous version of Printed Truth to begin a profound period of self-discovery, embracing the messiness, mistakes, and curiosity that led to deep healing and learning. During this time, I shed societal constraints and conventional business norms to uncover a deeper essence—one that transcends identity and fosters space for true innovation.
As I root myself deeply in alignment, readiness, receptivity, and commitment, I am on the creative path of watering my why, what & how for this business. Harmonizing the feminine and masculine energies on how to do business that aligns with my values. Intention is another dimension to the necessary clarification & decision of vision, mission & goals. It is an integrative approach to day to day project based attitude focus, direction & accountability.
Still on the search for the best Hemp/Organic cotton blends in the world and keeping a keen eye on the progress in South Africa. I am fine tuning the design & production process to offer timeless pieces that elevate everyday essentials.
Printed Truth’s focus on quality over quantity, and our dedication to natural fabrics, reflects our commitment to lasting comfort and sustainable fashion. Though the growth of the business may not be immediately visible, my team & I are nurturing the roots that will support a flourishing, purpose-driven business in the years to come.
Redefining Our Approach: The Bamboo's Lessons
Bamboo teaches us patience and persistence, qualities that resonate deeply with our journey at Printed Truth. As we redefine our approach, we embrace sensitivity, blend different aspects of ourselves, and strive for wholeness. Like bamboo bending gracefully with the wind, we are adapting, learning, and growing stronger through each challenge that arises in launching a strong online presence, being consistent and staying true to our vision.
Transparency remains at the core of our business, guided by the ancient '7 generations theory.' We are committed to ensuring that today's actions positively impact future generations. While we are not yet fully sustainable, we are dedicated to the journey—seeking sustainability certifications, adopting responsible practices, and prioritizing honesty and innovation.
Our intention is to bring awareness, to share the hemp plant’s incredible versatility & its numerous benefits as well as the progress on cultivation in South Africa and be one of the first designers to showcase the fabric in our range.
Printed Truth is on a mission to research, educate & source the most beautiful, fairly-sourced sustainable fabrics, trims, threads & dyes from across the globe and bring them into our range to offer valuable clothing sold at affordable but fair prices.
Printed Truth’s vision is to make clothing according to a design ethic that ensures a reduction in the use of non-renewable resources. To use fabrics & trims fashioned from natural fibers, grown without pesticides or chemicals. The vision is for a total sustainable supply chain.
I am the embodiment of my brand and she is a reflection of me
Being honest and vulnerable, my journey with Printed Truth is deeply intertwined with my own personal history. My start in life was marked by early childhood trauma that shaped many aspects of who I am today. These experiences left an imprint on my adult life, influencing how I navigate challenges, relationships, and even my approach to business.
It wasn't until I began to confront and heal these wounds that I understood the importance of rooting myself in strength and resilience. This journey of healing has been both painful and transformative, allowing me to strip away the layers of fear and limiting beliefs that once held me back.
I'm learning to embrace vulnerability as a strength. It’s through this process that I’ve come to realize that the most impactful thing I can do is to love life and to share this love through my work. This foundational work is crucial, as growth expands in correlation to what we can hold, and I’ve been preparing myself to hold more.
Printed Truth is a reflection of this ongoing healing journey—a commitment to transparency, growth, and creating a business that is aligned with my true self. By sharing this with you, I hope to invite others to make conscious choices and to recognize that our paths, no matter how challenging, can lead to profound growth and transformation.
True growth takes time, and by nurturing the roots, we’re preparing to rise with strength and resilience.

Hemp Magic
Our process from plant to garment
Hemp & organic cotton blend
Currently we are getting our Fabric from Hemporium, a South African based company. They import their hemp from Europe, Canada and China, however the long-term aim is to begin cultivating industrial hemp in South Africa. The fiber blends the strength of hemp combined with the gentle elasticity of organic cotton.
Legislation in South Africa has prevented the cultivation of hemp and while regulations have changed and will continue to change, it’s still not all that viable to grow hemp locally. Since its inception, Hemporium has been involved in lobbying for the change, as well as creating trial cultivation projects that have served as important research for the Department of Health and Agriculture.
The hemp blends from Hemporium are organically grown and are pigment dyed. We will only use their natural colour option & use natural dyes as the brand grows & we evolve.
Why Hemp?
Hemp is making a big comeback in the fashion world. Indeed, hemp grows without fertilizer, requires minimum attention, doesn't deplete soil nutrients and is easy to harvest. As a result most hemp by-products are now certified organic. By far; the crop with the most potential for eco-friendly textile use is hemp. The ecological footprint of hemp is considerably smaller than that of most other plants considered for their fibers.
Hemp plants grow very quickly and densely which makes it difficult for weeds to take hold, eliminating the need for herbicides and artificial fertilizers. It requires no irrigation as it thrives on the amount of water in the average rainfall, and it is highly pest-resistant.
Hemp has naturally long fibers which makes it suitable for spinning with a minimum of processing. Those fibers are also long-lasting, in fact, historically hemp has been used for making naval ropes that were used in and around water because they resist rot. If it held up to those conditions, imagine how well it will wear as a pair of jeans, or a shirt.
Hemp is a thoroughly ecological crop: highly productive, easy to cultivate and pest tolerant, so needing few or no agrichemicals whilst at the same time binding and enriching the soil with its deep roots. It is a traditional fiber that went out of flavor in the 1930s for political reasons, rather than practical ones. It is now at long last undergoing something of a revival.
We choose Hemp fabric for our clothing, making it a popular choice for sustainable and eco-friendly fashion.
So why do we love hemp for our clothing?
Environmental Goddess: Hemp grows fast, needs minimal water, and says no to pesticides and herbicides—truly a green goddess in the textile world.
Earth-Friendly Disposal: When you're done with hemp, it gracefully degrades, unlike synthetic fabrics that hang around for centuries.
Tough as Nails: Hemp fabric is as strong as it gets, standing up to wash after wash without losing its cool.
Breathe Easy: With hemp, you'll stay cool and dry, thanks to its breathable nature that lets air flow freely.
Skin-Friendly: Hypoallergenic and gentle, hemp fabric is a dream for sensitive skin.
Sun Shield: Enjoy natural UV protection with hemp's dense fibers, keeping you safe from the sun's rays.
Cozy Comfort: Get ready for hemp's softness to level up with each wear, getting better with age like fine wine.
Odor Fighter: Say goodbye to stink—hemp's got natural antibacterial powers to keep you fresh.
Style Savvy: Mix and match hemp with other fibers for endless style possibilities, all while staying eco-conscious.
Climate Hero: Hemp plants are pros at sucking up carbon dioxide, helping combat climate change one fashionable fiber at a time.
So there you have it!
High Frequency Fiber
Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Science
As we continue our journey into the realm of sustainable fashion, we’re thrilled to explore the fascinating intersection of ancient wisdom and modern science surrounding the frequency of natural fibers. These materials—linen, hemp, and organic cotton—are more than just fabrics; they carry vibrational frequencies that can profoundly impact our well-being.
Hemp: A High-Frequency Fiber Aligned with Human Well-Being
Hemp is another ancient fiber with a rich history and powerful properties. Known for its durability and sustainability, hemp is one of the oldest cultivated crops, used for everything from clothing to rope and paper. According to a study by Dr. Heidi Yellen, hemp has a frequency of 100 Hz, which closely aligns with the human body’s natural frequency range of 70–100 Hz. This alignment makes hemp an exceptionally beneficial fabric to wear, as it resonates harmoniously with our own energetic field.
Dr. Yellen's 2003 study, using an Ag-Environ machine, measured the vibrational frequencies of various textiles in angstroms. The study found that fabrics with frequencies higher than the human body's frequency promote health and wellness, while those with lower frequencies may contribute to illness. Wearing hemp can create a sense of stability and connection to the earth, making it an excellent choice for those seeking balance and grounding in their daily lives.
Organic Cotton: Soft, Breathable, and Grounding
While softer in texture, organic cotton holds its own significance in the realm of natural fibers. Cotton’s frequency, though lower than that of linen and hemp, remains grounding and nurturing. Organic cotton is free from harmful chemicals and pesticides, making it a safer and more sustainable option for both the wearer and the environment.
The softness and breathability of organic cotton make it ideal for everyday wear. Its ability to regulate body temperature and its hypoallergenic properties make it particularly beneficial for those with sensitive skin. Wearing organic cotton can bring a sense of comfort and ease, helping you feel more relaxed and connected to your body.
The Impact of Frequency on Well-Being
The concept of fiber frequency is rooted in the idea that everything in the universe, including our bodies and the clothes we wear, vibrates at a certain frequency. Higher frequencies are associated with health, vitality, and spiritual well-being, while lower frequencies can have the opposite effect. By choosing natural fibers like linen, hemp, and organic cotton, we align ourselves with higher frequencies, promoting overall wellness.
Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Science
While ancient texts like the Bible offer spiritual insights into the power of natural fibers, modern science is beginning to recognize their benefits. Studies have shown that the materials we surround ourselves with can influence our physical and mental health. By wearing fabrics with higher frequencies, we can positively impact our energy levels, mood, and even our spiritual practices.
Colour Therapy
How Colour Affects Your Mood
As we launch our first collection of basic organic cotton and hemp t-shirts in timeless black and white, we’re excited to dive into the psychology of these two powerful colors. Though seemingly simple, black and white hold deep meanings across different cultures and can significantly impact your mood and self-expression.
How Color Affects Your Mood
The colors you choose to wear can have a profound impact on your mood and the way you present yourself to the world. White can lift your spirits, helping you feel more optimistic and energized. It’s an excellent choice for days when you need clarity and a fresh perspective. On the other hand, black can help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control. It’s ideal for moments when you need to focus and project an air of sophistication.
The Essence of White: Purity, Peace, and Renewal
In many cultures, white is associated with purity, innocence, and new beginnings. In Western cultures, it is often worn by brides as a symbol of purity and hope for the future. In Eastern cultures, however, white is traditionally associated with mourning and funerals, representing the transition from life to death and the purity of the soul’s journey.
Wearing white can evoke feelings of calmness, clarity, and peace. It’s a color that reflects light, creating an aura of openness and space. When you wear white, you might feel more focused, refreshed, and ready to embrace new opportunities. It’s a color that invites simplicity and elegance, making it a versatile choice for any occasion.
The Power of Black: Sophistication, Strength, and Mystery
Black is a color with a complex and multifaceted history. In many cultures, black is associated with power, elegance, and sophistication. It’s often worn at formal events and is a staple in professional settings, symbolizing authority and confidence. In Western cultures, black is also linked to mourning and solemnity, representing respect and the gravity of loss.
However, black’s influence extends far beyond these associations. It’s a color that absorbs light, creating a sense of depth and mystery. When you wear black, you might feel more empowered, focused, and introspective. It’s a color that can ground you, offering a sense of protection and strength.
